Spanton vs The French Police, a female-directed documentary feature is premiering at the 30th annual Raindance Film Festival, in collaboration with 16 Days 16 Films. Re-examining the issue of consent, this film is a compact metro-thriller that asks troubling questions in the post #MeToo era.

Back in 2014 a Canadian tourist made rape allegations against two members of the elite French police force (the BRI).
Since the initial #MeToo wave ended, the charges against the officers were dropped in April 2022 under a consent law.
